Tourism boost in Tanzania with International Tourism Marketing Strategy

For the 5-year tourism development plan of Tanzania, both public and privately owned media have been invited on several occasions to visit the country in order to promote Tanzania internationally and to increase the number of tourists visiting the country.

The International Tourism Marketing Strategy was approved in 2013 after different negotiations with stakeholders in the industry, and will be focused on primary, secondary and tertiary markets.

The main aim is for Tanzania to reach 1.6 million tourists by the year 2015, and the figures are looking good, as the number of tourists has been increasing year by year already.

The UAE and South African journalists who arrived in Tanzania went to the Selous Game Reserve, and have plans on continuing to Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam. Such visits will be made regularly from on in order to boost the tourism industry of Tanzania.
